I am not sure what the beast may be, but I still feel that they are the beast. Piggy gets teased a lot so I "feel" Piggy is going to be killed by Jack, then Ralph is going to kill Jack.
You may have missed it, but the beast from the sky was attached to a parachute, and there was some talk of fighting and war. So how about a parachutist coming down to the island. Granted the boys at that age may have made something up as boys will do. Ron B
